About Othrys

Othrys Enterprises is a boutique development firm grounded in vision, discipline, and a deep respect for the land. We focus on high-end residential communities in the mountains of North Georgia, operating with intention across three core pillars: acquisition, development, and conservation.

We don’t pursue volume—we pursue distinction.

Each project begins with a rare property: view-rich, geologically interesting, and worth protecting. Our goal is to unlock its full potential while honoring its natural form. We build with minimal disruption, thoughtful siting, and a commitment to integrating homes with the landscape, not imposing on it.

Founder Mark Auger brings an uncommon combination of financial expertise, creative vision, and personal investment. His leadership ensures each decision—from site strategy to final finishes—is guided by long-term thinking.

Branding & Strategy

EGD is the creative partner behind Othrys’s visual identity, website, and storytelling strategy—translating the company’s philosophy and vision into design systems that reflect its ethos.

Mark Auger’s path to becoming a developer was anything but conventional. Before founding Othrys Enterprises, Mark lived an entirely different life—one of global stages, world-class performance, and artistic excellence. As an award-winning opera singer, he performed at Lincoln Center, the Vatican, and across Europe, mastering an art form that demands discipline, attention to detail, and emotional presence.

But at the height of his career, a catastrophic knee injury—followed by ten surgeries—forced him off the stage and into an unexpected new chapter. In the midst of that physical setback, he experienced a perfect storm: a divorce, the 2008 housing crash, and a mountain of six-figure debt. He returned to Georgia with no assets, a failing car, and what felt like a broken future.

Conventional advice urged him to file for bankruptcy and walk away—but Mark chose the harder road. Drawing on his deep knowledge of mortgage finance, he began rebuilding, one property at a time. From a quadplex acquired with just $11K down to record-setting renovations across Atlanta, he combined vision, hustle, and hard-won wisdom to slowly reshape his life.

A drive through the North Georgia mountains changed everything. A billboard showcasing a modern mountain home sparked a seed of inspiration: what if he could design homes that reflected the same intentionality and presence he once brought to the stage? He sold his city properties, built two cabins in Blue Ridge, and saw both nearly double in value. With the proceeds, he acquired 82 acres of pristine mountain land that would become Pinhoti Summit.

Today, Mark leads Othrys as both a developer and a steward. He brings the sensibility of an artist, the precision of a craftsman, and the foresight of a long-term investor. His homes are not just structures—they’re statements. They are meant to stand the test of time, grow from the land, and inspire those who live in them.

For Mark, building isn’t just a profession—it’s a continuation of performance, purpose, and presence. Each home is composed like a score, with space, rhythm, and soul. And every decision he makes is rooted in one belief: if it’s not amazing, it’s not worth doing.
